Laserjet printer doesn't do it π Print problems and solutions
If your receipt printer doesn't work, follow these steps.
1. Basic control - always check first

Is the printer on?

Is the USB cable firmly connected? (It can be released due to vibration.)

Turn the printer off and on.
If you haven't printed before today, you can remove the printer from standby. Or click on the 'Feed' button. Then try printing again.
2. Is Printhelper on the computer that the printer is attached to?
PrismaNote prints via the Printhelper program. If this is not on the computer that the printer is attached to, receipts will not come out of the printer.
1. Go to the computer the printer is connected to.
2. Click Start on your Windows computer at the bottom left (or open Finder on a MacOS).
3. Now type the word "helper."
4. Click the App PrismaNote Printhelper App to open it.
The program now starts automatically. Try printing again.
Tip
Will there be a message that says 'Print helper is already running...'?Then the program was already on.
Is the program not on the computer? Follow the Printhelper download steps.
Does the Printhelper program ask for a password?
You can find this information in PrismaNote:
- Click on 'Shop Settings' in the menu
- Click on the 'Print settings' tab
3. Are the right workstation and printer selected in PrismaNote?
A workstation is a separate workplace, to which printers are connected.
Has the correct workstation been selected?
1. Click on 'Dashboard' in the menu
2. Click next to the location on the workstation
3. Click on the correct workstation
Has the correct printer been selected at the workstation?
1. Click on 'Shop Settings' in the menu
2. Click on the 'Printer Settings' tab
3. Look at the column in which you see at the top of your workstation. Scroll to the Transaction Former row (or another option that depends on the voucher you want to print) and see if the correct printer is paired.
Tip
You can click the blue button to change the printer. In the field, you can click Select printer if no printer is selected.
Additional tips for laser jet and inkjet printers
1. Is the printer not on a break? (press the Start button of the printer once to remove the printer from any pause position)
2. Is there enough paper?
3. Is there enough ink?
4. Is there any paper in the printer?
5. Is the printer properly connected to the computer?
6. Does the printer work outside of PrismaNote? Create a new text file in Word or Notepad and try printing it.
- Does this work? Restart computer.
- Does this not work? Turn off the printer. Restart computer. Turn on the printer.
