Purchase of margin products (second-hand, vintage)
In this article, you will discover the process of purchasing and selling second-hand products. By following these steps, you ensure that revenue is correctly recorded according to the margin scheme.
Purchasing second-hand products via the cash register

In the menu, click on Cash Register

At the top, click on the Other button

Click on the Margin purchase option. A new screen will appear.

Click on the Choose button.

Enter the purchase price under Price.
6 Optionally, create another sale and click on the desired payment method.
This amount is visible in a separate category on the statistics report.
Tip
The margin purchase is visible after creating the transaction via the menu Services -> All items.
Creating a second-hand product when the margin purchase has been registered in the cash register

In the menu, click on Services.

Click on the sub-menu item All items.

Click on the View button next to the margin purchase (You can also filter by this type using the blue filter icon next to the search bar).

On the right, click on the Create product button
5. You can now enter the product data for the product. Determine the correct selling price and order description for this new vintage item.
Tip
Please note: we pre-fill the correct VAT, purchase price, and item group. The original purchase transaction number is also included. This means that the purchase transaction is linked to the created product and that the relationship between sales and purchase is clearly documented.
Go through the steps of the purchase order, just as you would register a normal purchase order.
Paying for a margin product at the cash register
Have you registered the product in your assortment? Follow these steps to sell this product.

In the menu, click on Cash Register.

Make sure the Stock button at the top is selected. Scan or type the product number in the search bar and click on the relevant product.

Pay for the product with the desired payment method.
Tip
The VAT is now only calculated on the profit. The standard VAT percentage is therefore applied to the difference between the purchase and selling price of the product.
