Page structure
It is important to arrange the content on a page to keep it structured. This also makes it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for.
Easily select column or row
The Website Builder is built from a header, footer, rows, and columns. Every widget you add is placed within one of these sections. These widgets often take up the full size of a row or column, making them difficult to select.
- To bypass this, right-click on the widget in the column or row you want to select.
- Then choose the 'Select Container' option and then select the relevant Column or Row.
Rows
Rows are the horizontal sections of your site. When you add widgets and columns to your site, they are placed within these rows.
You can add rows to your site by dragging widgets to the site. When you drag a widget between rows or to a space where you want to add a row, a new row is created when you drop the widget.
To delete a row, right-click anywhere on the row to open the menu. Then click Delete. You can also open this menu by clicking 'Row' in the top left corner.
Do you want the content to be displayed in reverse order on the mobile view? First, select the mobile view (click the mobile icon at the top for this). Then open the menu of a specific row by right-clicking on it. Turn on 'reverse column order' to display the columns in reverse on mobile.
Columns
Each row contains at least one column. Columns contain all the widgets on your site and determine their arrangement.
Each row can contain a maximum of four columns. Each time you add a new column, it appears next to the existing column in that row.
Although on desktop and tablet each row can contain a maximum of four columns, mobile websites can display a maximum of two columns side by side.
Columns added in desktop or tablet view take the full width of the page when switched to mobile view; to create a new row with two columns in mobile view, first switch to mobile view and then add a two-column widget.
To delete a column, right-click anywhere in the column to open the menu and then click Delete. Or click the red X in the top right corner of the column.
Inner row
Inner rows provide additional design flexibility, as you can re-split a column. Using inner rows, you can vary the column layout while maintaining the overall design of the row (e.g., background, spacing, and overflow).
Like regular rows, inner rows can have their own background and space. They can also be split into a maximum of four columns, and their column order can be changed on mobile. Columns in inner rows can be filled by any widget.
To add an inner row to a column, perform one of the following actions:
-
Right-click on the row and click Add Inner Row. If there are multiple columns in the row, choose which column you want to add the inner rows to.
-
Right-click on the column and click Add Inner Row.
-
Right-click on the inner row and click Add Row to place an inner row below the current row.
Widgets
Widgets contain the text, images, buttons, and other content of your site. You can add a widget by dragging it from the left sidebar.
To remove a widget from your site, right-click anywhere in the widget to open the menu and then click Delete. You can also click the red X in the top right corner of the widget.
If you want to place widgets next to each other, you need to add an extra column to the row.
