Setting up webshop payment methods with Mollie or PAY

When a customer places an order, they are redirected to the payment provider (PAY or Mollie). You can set up the various webshop payment methods by logging in with this party.

Activating payment methods in Mollie

Step 1. Log in

1. Go to www.mollie.com

2. Click on Log in in the top right corner.

3. Log in with your email address and password (or use 2FA if enabled).

Step 2. Go to your Dashboard

1. After logging in, you will enter the Mollie Dashboard.

2. Choose the correct organization and website profile for which you want to activate payment methods (A website profile is linked to the webshop or platform that receives your payments.)

Step 3. Open Payment Methods

1. In the menu, click on Settings → Payment methods.

2. You will see an overview of all available payment methods (e.g., iDEAL, Bancontact, Credit card, Klarna, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.).

Step 4. Request Payment Methods

1. For the desired payment method, click on Request or Activate.

2. Mollie may request additional information, for example:

3. Extra company information (e.g., Chamber of Commerce extract).

4. A check to see if your website is live and accessible.

5. Specific requirements for some payment methods (such as Credit card and Klarna).

Sometimes you also have to have a certain payment method approved by Mollie first.

Activating payment methods in PAY

Step 1. Log in

1. Go to www.PAY.nl.

2. Click on Log in in the top right corner.

3. Log in with your username and password.

Step 2. Go to the Dashboard

1. After logging in, you will enter the Service Dashboard of PAY.nl.

2. Choose the correct Service ID (this represents your webshop or project).

Step 3. Open (Online) Payment Methods

1. In the menu on the left, click on Settings.

2. Go to Payment Methods. You will see an overview of all available payment methods (e.g., iDEAL, Bancontact, Credit card, PayPal, Post-payment, etc.).

Step 4. Activate Payment Methods

1. For the desired payment method, click on Request or Activate.

2. PAY.nl may request additional information, for example: For some methods, extra documentation (e.g., for credit cards or post-payment).

Step 5. Approval by PAY.nl

• Some payment methods are immediately active (e.g., iDEAL, Bancontact).

• Other payment methods require manual approval by PAY.nl or the payment provider (e.g., Credit card, Klarna, AfterPay)

You will receive a notification in your dashboard and often also by email as soon as the method has been approved.
