Linking your website to your own domain name

8 min read·Updated 12/05/2026

Don't have your own domain name (www.yourjewelerystorename.nl) yet? Register it with a hosting company, such as Hostnet or TransIp. You can also have PrismaNote do this for you in combination with your email management. Please refer to this page. Your domain can then be linked to the new website.

Three steps to get the website live

  1. Linking the domain in the website builder

  2. Changing the DNS settings at your hosting company

  3. Generating the SSL certificate in the website builder (by clicking a button)

1. Linking the domain in the website builder

  1. In the PrismaNote menu, click 'Website builder'

  2. Click the edit icon next to the website.

  3. The website builder opens in a new window.

  4. In the menu, click More -> Settings.

  5. Click the 'Website domain' tab

  6. Click the black 'Change Site URL' button

Tip

Are these steps not yet visible in your website builder? Send a message to support@prismanote.com with the domain name you want to link the website to. The admin will then link your domain.

  1. A new screen appears.

  2. Enter the domain and click 'Save'

2. Change DNS settings at the hosting company

Next, the so-called DNS settings must be adjusted at the hosting company (the company where the domain is hosted and where you receive an invoice from).

There are 3 ways to change this:

  1. You can ask your hosting company or system administrator
  2. You can do it yourself
  3. You can have us do it for you

1. Ask your hosting company or system administrator

Send this (filled in) message to your hosting company or system administrator:

Good day,

Would you please change these DNS records for me?

www CNAME s.multiscreensite.com

@ A 35.172.94.1

@ A 100.24.208.97

The two A records are used for server balance.

This concerns the domain name: [your domain name]

Could you let me know if this has been successful?

Thank you very much!

[Your name]

2. Change DNS settings yourself

You can also change the settings yourself. It can take up to 48 hours for the change to become visible.

Changing DNS only affects your website, but with an email address linked to this domain (e.g.: info@yourjewelerystorename.nl) extra caution is advised.

Your mail may stop working if you change the wrong settings.

Take a photo or a screenshot with your smartphone of the current record settings. This way you always have a backup of your changes.

Make sure the following records are present:

Type: A, Value: @, Refers to: 35.172.94.1

Type: A, Name: @, Refers to: 100.24.208.97

Type: CNAME, Name: www, Content: s.multiscreensite.com

3. Let us do it

Send the (temporary) login details of the hosting company to support@prismanote.com to get the website live.

If you host with us, we will arrange it directly for you.

3. Generate SSL certificate in the website builder

Once the DNS has been converted (this can take several hours after completing step 2), the SSL certificate can be generated in the website builder. This way the website is well secured.

  1. In the PrismaNote menu, click 'Website builder'

  2. Click the edit icon next to the website

  3. The website builder opens in a new window.

  4. In the menu, click More -> Settings.

  5. Click the 'Site-SSL' tab

  6. Next to the website name, click the 'Generate Certificate' button

Done! It takes about an hour for it to be generated and the website to be fully accessible.
